TotalFinaElf E&P Congo, a subsidiary of TotalFinaElf, awarded Bluewater Energy Services B.V., Hoofddorp, a contract to provide a single point mooring (SPM) system for the Djeno offshore oil terminal, major components of which are to be installed off the Congo Republic by yearend 2002.

The scope of the agreement includes design, supply, and installation of the SPM system complete with PLEM, submarine and floating hoses. The SPM will anchor a turntable buoy to be deployed in 35 metres of water about 8 kilometres from Djeno tank farm, establishing Djeno oil terminal.

TotalFinaElf plans to load oil tankers as large as 340,000 dwt at the terminal with either of two grades of crude: light Kiltina-Nkossa blend or heavy Djeno blend. Djeno oil terminal will be linked to Djeno tank farm by a 40-inch subsea pipeline ending in the Bluewater PLEM under the buoy.

The buoy and relevant systems are to be installed by the end of November 2002.

Bluewater Energy Services B.V., a member of the Bluewater Group of Companies, has built a technological lead specialising in lease and operation of tanker-based Production and Storage systems, and has become a leading provider of innovative Single Point Mooring systems.
