UOP LLC has announced that Shell Canada's Montreal-East Refinery successfully commissioned a CCR Platforming (TM) unit for the production of high-octane reformate, an important gasoline component. The CCR Platforming unit, put into place in June 2004, has met all process performance guarantees.

UOP supplied a modular CycleMax(TM) CCR(TM) regenerator with a circulation capacity of 1000 lbs of catalyst per hour in order to revamp Shell Canada's 1976 semi-regen unit into a CCR Platforming unit. CCR Platforming is the premier reforming process for the production of high- octane gasoline with more than 185 units in operation worldwide.
