Worley International (Thailand) has recently been awarded two significant projects supporting Unocal's planned expansion of their offshore oil processing capability.

Buoyed by the success of the first Big Oil project which currently processes 18,000 bopd at the Platong Central complex in the Gulf Of Thailand, Unocal have given project sanction to the expansion of the oil processing facilities up to 40,000 bopd by the 1st Qtr 2005.

  • Big Oil Debottlenecking Project - Detail Design. This brownfield upgrade to both the Platong Gas Processing platform and the adjacent Big Oil oil processing facility will increase the throughput capability of the complex to 25,000 BOPD together with improving the quality of oil produced.
  • Thailand Oil Development Phase 2 Project (Big Oil 2) - Preliminary Engineering.

This expansion at Platong Central Complex comprises the installation of second oil receiving, processing and export facility, named Platong Oil Central Processing Platform 2 (PLOCPP2), bridge-linked to existing Gas process platform (PLCPP).

PLOCPP2 will also have produced water treatment and pumping facilities (for remote re-injection for disposal) and wet gas compression facilities (for evacuation of associated gas for conditioning and sale at a remote processing complex).
