The Bahrain Petroleum Company B.S.C,(BAPCO) has awarded WorleyParsons a Project Management Contractor (PMC) contract for the BAPCO Modernization Program (BMP).

The BMP is designed to optimize the refinery configuration to place BAPCO amongst the most competitive refineries in the Middle East beyond 2020. It is envisaged that the total refinery throughput will be 360 thousand barrels per day. This will be achieved by integrating several new units into the existing refinery.

WorleyParsons’ expected revenue from the contract is A$120 million.

As the PMC contractor, WorleyParsons will assist BAPCO to manage, monitor and appraise the activities of the front end engineering design contractor, engineering, procurement and construction contractors, and other contractors engaged to execute the work.

Commenting on the award, WorleyParsons Chief Executive Officer, Mr Andrew Wood said “We are delighted that BAPCO has chosen WorleyParsons for this critical project and we look forward to working with BAPCO to help it achieve its business objectives.”
