KT scope of work consists in EP (Engineering & Procurement) contract, supplying two modularized Sulphur Recovery Units complete with Claus, Tail Gas Treatment (TGT) and Acid Gas Enrichment (AGE) sections.

The Phase 1 of the Project foresees 2 SRU packages, with a capacity of 25 t/d of sulphur each, integrated with the AGE section based on the KT Multipurpose™ technology. Modularization of the plant has been taken into account from the beginning to speed up the engineering and the construction activities with the great result of completion and delivery to the site of the first modules, complete with piping and equipment, only 9 months after the kick off.
The first package of Sulphur Recovery Unit (SRU), TGT and AGE Units licensed, designed and procured by KT integrated in the Zohr Development Project has been successfully started-up.

Despite the very tight schedule of all construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, the small capacity and the technological solutions proposed to succeed in the demanding performances are of great significance, due to the hard to treat feedstock and the wide range of operation, the start-up of the unit was smooth and in line with the expected performances, especially for the AGE section. The TGT section is under pre-sulphiding operation and it will be in operation in the next days.
Another successful project completed by KT, further proof of KT’s leading position both as of Sulphur Recovery and Tail Gas Treatment technology and EPC Contractor.
