Baker Hughes Incorporated (NYSE:BHI) announced today that the international rig count for June 2011 was 1,158, up 7 from the 1,151 counted in May 2011, and up 59 from the 1,099 counted in June 2010. The international offshore rig count for June 2011 was 298, down 8 from the 306 counted in May 2011 and down 14 from the 312 counted in June 2010.

The last report of rig activity in Libya was for February 2011.

The US rig count for June 2011 was 1,863, up 27 from the 1,836 counted in May 2011 and up 332 from the 1,531 counted in June 2010. The Canadian rig count for June 2011 was 236, up 93 from the 143 counted in May 2011 and up 7 from the 229 counted in June 2010.

The worldwide rig count for June 2011 was 3,257, up 127 from the 3,130 counted in May 2011 and up 398 from the 2,859 counted in June 2010.
