Baker Hughes Incorporated (NYSE:BHI) announced today that the international rig count for October 2010 was 1,099, down 21 from the 1,120 counted in September 2010, and up 116 from the 983 counted in October 2009. The international offshore rig count for October 2010 was 305, down 12 from the 317 counted in September 2010 and up 38 from the 267 counted in October 2009.

The US rig count for October 2010 was 1,668 up 13 from the 1,655 counted in September 2010 and up 624 from the 1,044 counted in October 2009. The Canadian rig count for October 2010 was 398, up 51 from the 347 counted in September 2010 and up 154 from the 244 counted in October 2009.

The worldwide rig count for October 2010 was 3,165, up 43 from the 3,122 counted in September 2010 and up 894 from the 2,271 counted in October 2009.
