Indonesia’s Upstream Oil and Gas Executive Agency (BPMIGAS) recorded that gas lifting from 14 Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKS contractors) has exceeded the target set in the 2011 revised state budget.

The contractor with the highest achievement was ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia with gas lifting has reached 417 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD) or higher by 89.18 MMSCFD from the state budget’s target which is 328 MMSCFD. The company was followed by Chevron Indonesia Company with gas lifting stood at 141 MMSCFD, up by 53.58 MMSCFD from the target of 87 MMSCFD.

Premier Oil Natuna Sea B.V and and Santos (Madura Offshore) Pty. Ltd were respectively at the third and fourth position. Premier’s gas lifting has reached 145 MMSCFD or higher by 18 MMSCFD from the target of 126 MMSCFD, while Santos’s gas lifting was at 119 MMSCFD or higher by 16.87 MMSCFD from the target.

KKS contractor PHE-West Madura Offshore included in the list of successful contractors and was at the fifth position with gas lifting at 157 MMSCFD or higher by 8.03 MMSCFD from the state budget’s target, which is 149 MMSCFD.

BPMIGAS’s operation deputy Rudi Rubiandini said the agency expected other contractors to learn from the 14 contractors to boost their gas lifting so that they can meet the state budget target set by the government and the House of Representatives. “All the government elements and KKS contractors must work hard together to increase gas production and lifting to meet the target,” he said.

Other contractors that have succesfully met the gas lifting target are Energy Equity EPIC (Sengkang) Pty. Ltd., Kalila (Bentu) Operator Pty. Ltd., Triangle (Pase), JOB P – PetroChina East Java, JOB P – Costa Int. Group Ltd, PHE – ONWJ, Medco E&P Ind. (S&C Sumatra), Kangean Energy Ind. Ltd., and PetroChina Int. (Bermuda) Ltd. (ALF)
