Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Kazuhisa Nakano) has decided to stop crude oil processing function of Tokuyama Refinery in and after March 2014 in order to restructure its supply system. This is in conformity with “the Law Concerning Sophisticated Methods of Energy Supply Structures”.

Idemitsu Tokuyama will reinforce functions as a logistics base for petroleum products businesses, and strengthen its international competitiveness for petrochemical businesses.

  1. Termination of crude oil processing function
    1. Location : Tokuyama Refinery (CDU capacity: 120,000 bbl/d)
    2. Date : March, 2014
  2. Petroleum products supply
    1. To secure stable supply for petroleum products and strengthen its competitiveness after stopping crude oil processing function
    2. To reinforce its function as a depot by strengthening receiving and shipping facilities for petroleum products
  3. Petrochemical businesses
    1. To secure stable supply to the petrochemical complex by strengthening its international competitiveness, such as expanding receiving and shipping facilities to accept larger vessels
    2. To enhance its research and development of new businesses as a major petrochemical base
