WorleyParsons announces the award of a contract for the project management team and front end engineering and design services for both the inside and outside battery limits of the SORESCO Moin Refinery expansion and modernization project in Costa Rica.

Refinery expansion contract.

SORESCO is the 50-50 joint venture between RECOPE (the Costa Rican state owned oil refining company) and CNPCI (China National Petroleum Corporation International) established for this project to expand the current refinery to a 60,000 barrels per day facility.

To execute this project, WorleyParsons will utilize teams from its offices in the United States and China.

The estimated revenue to be received by WorleyParsons under this contract is US $67.4 million.

Chief Executive Officer of WorleyParsons, John Grill commented: “This is an excellent demonstration of our global capabilities, the collaborative efforts among our diverse locations, and the alignment of our resources to match our customers' project needs. We look forward to undertaking this refining capacity expansion in Central America."
