Perenco UK is pleased to announce that the Leman 53/02a-14Z well, drilled as an appraisal well 8 km to the South West of Leman 27H platform, has been successfully perforated and cleaned up on Nov 20th, producing at a controlled rate of 24 MMcfd.

The well confirmed a separate structure at virgin pressure, containing between 35 and 73 bcf. The subsea well will be tied back to the Leman 27A main compression platform via a 9.4km 8" pipeline and umbilical which is expected to be installed in Q4 2012.

This is a significant success for Perenco UK and confirms the on-going potential of fields like Leman and Inde that had previously been deemed to be moving towards the end of their life.
