Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras informs the discovery of a new light oil and natural gas accumulation in the Golfinho Concession (4-BRSA-1001-ESS).

The discovery took place during drilling of well 4-GLF-31-ESS, informally known as Tambuatá. Located 74 km off the coast, the well is 7 km from FPSO Cidade de Vitória, in the eastern section of Golfinho Field, at a water depth of 1520 meters.

Preliminary analyses indicate excellent quality oil, condensate and natural gas. Well drilling will continue to a depth of 6,100 meters in order to test deeper formations. Reservoirs from the Cretaceous Period (Santonian Age) were identified, that are already in production in the field, at a depth between 4530 and 4670 meters and in good conditions for production.

This undertaking is part of the Varredura Project, which is a program designed to intensity the production of hydrocarbons in new discoveries close to production systems already implemented (Planóleo).
