In the interest of increasing their participation in the exploration and production in Colombia, multinational oil giant China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Colombia, exchanged views and explored new ways to enhance mutual cooperation in areas of common interest.

With CNPC, the third global oil company, with operations in over 30 countries, addressed issues such as pipeline Venezuela - Colombia, interconnection oil with heavy crude oil pipeline in Ecuador, in exploration and production opportunities in Colombia and new mechanisms for international trade and finance Colombian oil projects.

Mr. Wang Dong Jin, vice president of CNPC and the Minister of Mines and Energy of Colombia Mauricio Cardenas, met under the Business Forum was convened in the city of Shanghai to mark the state visit of President Juan Manuel Santos People's Republic of China, from 8 to 11 May.
