TNK-BP announces that as of July 1, 2012 its Ryazan Oil Refinery (part of TNK-BP Group companies) has been outfitted to produce AI-95 gasoline meeting the highest Euro-5 environmental standards. This transition has become possible due to the changes made in the refining processes, namely, the replacement of the catalyst used in the vacuum gas oil hydro-treatment unit.

As a result, the Ryazan Oil Refinery is now capable of deep desulfurization of crude oil. Gasoline blending procedures have also been adjusted. The Ryazan Oil Refinery has been preparing for transition to production of Euro-5 gasoline for the last two months.

Mikhail Davydov, Vice President, Refining, TNK-BP, said that, according to the production plan, the Ryazan Oil Refinery will produce 104,000 tons of Euro-5 gasoline in the first month of production after the transition. “Production will be increased up to 125,000 tons a month in the subsequent months,” he added.
