Mr. Tevin Vongvanich (นายเทวินทร์ วงศ์วานิช), President and CEO of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited or PTTEP disclosed that PTTEP Oman Company Limited, a subsidiary of PTTEP, is ready to add up crude oil production which will boost the Oman 44 Project’s overall production of crude oil and condensate to 5,000 barrels per day (BPD) in October 2012.

Additional production is a result of a successful drilling campaign of 7 development and appraisal wells during 2011-2012. The crude oil production from development wells at approximately 2,500 BPD from Munhamir field will start up in September 2012, and a crude oil discovery from the appraisal wells at Shams-E South will bring about a production of 1,000 BPD in October 2012. These two successes will add up the overall production of Oman 44 Project from 1,500 BPD to approximately 5,000 BPD, and also natural gas production at around 50 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).

Mr. Tevin said that the drilling campaign of development and appraisal wells was successfully completed. The discovery of more crude oil has been considered as a significant value creation from Oman 44 Project because it can add up the overall production for three times. Furthermore, the campaign was also completed without Lost Time Incident (LTI) throughout 453,600 working man-hours.

Moreover, PTTEP plans for crude oil exploration in a new play type in this block with high potential extended to western part of Block 44 where PTTEP will conduct the 3D seismic survey accordingly.

The Oman 44 Project covers approximately 1,162 square kilometers. It is located about 300 kilometers west from Muscat, the capital of Sultanate of Oman, with PTTEP Oman Company Limited, a subsidiary of PTTEP, as an Operator with 100% interest.
