On 26 July 2012, Caltex announced the proposed closure in the second half of 2014 of the Kurnell Refinery in Sydney and its conversion to a major import terminal.

Caltex advised that its employees at Kurnell were being informed of the proposal and the
company had entered a period of consultation with them and their representatives.

Following consultation about the proposal with our employees and their representatives, the
company has decided to proceed with the Kurnell closure and conversion.

Caltex will continue to consult closely with its employees and their representatives about the
implementation of this decision.

Caltex Managing Director and CEO Julian Segal said, "Caltex remains committed to supporting its people with the highest level of care, attention and respect.

"The company will continue to engage with our employees at Kurnell refinery to listen to their
individual needs, and discuss retention, redeployment and retraining opportunities.

"Caltex will remain focused on safe and reliable operation of the Kurnell refinery."
