Sembcorp Marine's subsidiary Jurong Shipyard (JPSL) has signed a Letter of Intent with repeat customer Petrosafe for the construction of a semi-submersible accomodation rig.

The rig, which is similar design as the Safe Boreas presently under construction in Jurong Shipyard will be built to comply with Norwegian regulations. A further announcement will be made when the contract is signed.

In addition, JSPL has, subject to board approval, granted two options for further new builds, meaning that Prosafe now in total has options for three new builds at JPSL. The additional two options can be designed for either the Norwegian Continental Shelf or for the world-wide operations outside of Norway.
The aforementioned transaction is not expected to have any material impact on the net tangible assets or the earnings per share of Sembcorp Marine for the current financial year.
