Between December 30 and December 31 OAO TATNEFT put into the normal technological operation mode the crude oil primary distillation installation CDU / VDU-7 of the TANEKO Refinery Complex (Nizhnekamsk). The first products of the TANEKO refinery Complex were received, such as naphtha and export process fuel. The products were pumped into the tanks. At the moment the mode debugging is in progress for starting the commercial operation and shipment of products.

R.N. Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, addressed a telegram of greetings to the employees of OAO TATNEFT, TANECO, as well as to the employees of construction, erection, design engineering and commissioning organizations saying the following:

On behalf of the Republic of Tatarstan and on my own behalf I congratulate you on your remarkable and momentous event in the life of our country - getting first batch of products at the complex of refineries and petrochemical plants in Nizhnekamsk.

In the record of victories and achievements of the petrochemical complex of Tatarstan you have inscribed a bright page. This Labour victory is your wonderful gift to all residents of Tatarstan on the New Year's Eve. The first batch of TANEKO products is the result of your everyday self-sacrificing labor, evidence of high professionalism and responsibility in solving the defined problems. I am confident in your maintaining the achieved rate of works and successful implementation of the TANEKO project within the deadline.

On the eve of the New Year 2011accept my warmest wishes for good health, family happiness and new achievements in the creative work for the benefit of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan.

Reference Information

Implementation of the Project "Complex of Refinery and Petrochemical Plants" was started in 2005 with the aim of developing a new phase of the oil refining industry of Tatarstan. The Government of the Republic and TATNEFT Company were initiators of the construction.

The project's key objective is to provide high-tech, efficient and environmentally friendly crude oil processing with production of competitive available hydrocarbon products.

It is planned to produce gasoline, heating oil, technical kerosene, liquefied gases, vacuum gas oil, fuel oil and sulfur at the installations of the first starting complex.

The completion of the Project implementation envisages production of 18 kinds of high value added products of crude oil, including Euro-5 standard motor fuels.

One of the main priorities of the Oil Refining and Petrochemical Complex is its environmental orientation. The inherent design solutions, as well as application of the world's proven technologies and equipment allow minimizing the impact on the environment. A multi-level system of continuous environmental monitoring is also provided.
