The Hohhot Petrochemical Refinery Expansion Project has been completed with the commissioning of the Fluidised Catalytic Cracking Unit. The 2.8 Million ton per annum unit was successfully put into operation on the 28th of October.

The Atmospheric distillation unit was commissioned at the end of September following which the diesel hydrotreater was completed.

The project increased the capacity of the refinery from 30,000 to 100,000 bbl/day

Hohhot Petrochemical Refinery is a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corp.
