Ergon, Inc., announced today the expansion of its subsidiary refining facility at Newell, West Virginia. The expansion at Ergon - West Virginia, Inc. will enable the refinery to handle growing regional crude oil production as drilling activities continue to increase throughout the Marcellus and Utica Shale areas. As part of this effort, Ergon plans to invest upwards of $78 million to add capacity in its refinery processing units and supporting infrastructure.

“This expansion will provide our customers with even greater reliability, higher quality fuels and an improved customer experience,” said Don Davis, President of Ergon - West Virginia, Inc.

The majority of these projects will be completed during the second quarter 2013, with the balance continuing into 2014. With this additional capacity, Ergon - West Virginia, Inc. expects to build on the products and services it has provided in the region for over 15 years.
