TNK-BP reports that it will invest over $60 mln in the construction of a hydrocarbons sulfur removal facility at CJSC Ryazan Oil Refinery Company (RORC, part of the TNK-BP Group). The facility is planned to be commissioned in 2015.

The construction is part of a large-scale program to upgrade RORC facilities. The project will allow processing over 175 mmcm of hydrocarbon gas per annum. The removed hydrogen sulphide will be processed into sulphuric acid for further sale.

In 2012-2015, TNK-BP's total investment in refinery upgrades will amount to $2.5 bn.

"TNK-BP continuously improves the efficiency and the environmental production profile. The construction of this facility is part of a long-term program to upgrade all Company refining assets, with total investments of $2.5 bn during the 2012-2015 period," notes Anatoly Skoromets, General Director, RORC.
