Odfjell Drilling and BG Group have extended the drilling contract for the drillship Deepsea Metro I in Tanzania. Deepsea Metro I has been drilling in Tanzania since late 2011 with high operational performance and without any lost time incidents or serious HSE incidents.

The extension covers a 540 day period from June 2013. The utilization of the drillship will during this period be shared by BG Group and Ophir Energy. The agreement also includes an additional 18 month option.
