On June 28, the Vankor oil and gas field operated by Rosneft produced 60 millionth ton of oil since its kick off. The field commenced commercial operations in August 2009.

Today, Vankorneft has an existing stock of 266 wells at 31 cluster sites, which yield more than 59,000 tons of oil per day.

The field is developed chiefly by directional and horizontal drilling ensuring high flow rates with some wells showing yields of 900 tons of oil per day. In 2012, oil production increased by 22.1% to 18.3 mln. tons.
