Aker Solutions has won a contract to supply a complete Pusnes wire mooring system for a cylindrical-shaped accommodation unit being built at Cosco Nantong Shipyard in China.

The equipment includes three triple wire winches, three control cabins, nine wire fairleads, three hydraulic power units and the accompanying control system. The contract is worth about NOK 40 million.

The wire mooring systems will be commissioned at Cosco Nantong Shipyard in China. Deliveries will take place in May and October 2014. The contract includes an option for a second unit. The accommodation unit will be operated by Logitel Offshore.

"We are very pleased to be working with Cosco Nantong and to supply high quality Pusnes mooring systems to Logitel Offshore," says Leif Haukom, head of Aker Solutions' mooring and loading systems business.

The contract confirms our position as a leading provider of high-end wire mooring equipment," says Haukom.

The equipment has been designed according to the latest standards set by classification society DNV. The wire size and length for the accommodation unit is 90mm x 450m.
