The president of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, the president of Uruguay, Jose Mujica, and the presidents of YPF and ANCAP, Miguel Galuccio, and Raul Sendic, respectively, will open tomorrow, in Uruguay, the most important energy project of recent years for the country, for an investment of $ 400 million.

The construction of this work in the ANCAP La Teja refinery, which will allow Uruguay to produce high quality fuels with low sulfur content according to the new standards Mercosur, was conducted by EFSA, a company YPF dedicated to engineering, construction and services primarily focused oil and petrochemical industry. Among the facilities opened two stand-fuel hydrodesulfurization plant, with capacity to produce 5,000 barrels per day of naphtha and 18,000 of diesel, new regeneration units and water treatment, storage, control rooms, electrical substations, and expansion of the existing land by filling the bay of Montevideo.

Much of the equipment installed in the work were manufactured by EFSA in its plant located in Canning, Buenos Aires province, exported to Uruguay. They are a total of 124 teams and process modules:

  • heat exchangers, air coolers, reactors, pressure vessels, furnaces, filters, tanks, among others. Besides construction, the work undertaken by YPF, through EASA, included completion of basic engineering and detailed engineering, pre-clearance work for his habilitation assistance and commissioning. For a year, the operation of the new facilities of the refinery will be conducted by EFSA staff. For engineering development, most of which was developed and controlled by EFSA in Argentina, 600,000 hours were used a total man 7,000,000 did it take the entire project.
