Ohio EPA has issued a draft air permit for equipment changes at the Lima Refining Company’s facility on South Metcalf Street. Ohio EPA will hold a public information session and hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, to explain the draft permit modification and accept public comments. The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at Lima City Council chambers, 50 Town Square.

If approved, the permit would allow the company to install or modify equipment so it would have the flexibility to process various forms of crude oil. The permit limits emissions to levels that are protective of air quality and public health.

Ohio EPA will accept written comments on the draft permit through Oct. 7, 2013. Ohio EPA will take all public comments into consideration before deciding whether to issue or deny the permit.
