The Rosneft’s subsidiary Saratov Refinery will undergo a modernization and technological upgrade as part of the planned overhaul of the facility that will last from 2nd October through to the middle of November. One of the largest investment initiatives as part of the program is to raise the production efficiency of the ELOU-AVT-6 primary refining unit to 7 million tonnes a year to ensure an increase in the extraction of vacuum gas oil. Other tasks include upgrading the processing units to meet the latest industrial safety requirements.

The upcoming overhaul is expected to be the largest in scale ever since the company foundation, with more than 1,500 workers to be employed at the apex of the program. With the job done, the facility will enjoy a dramatic increase in oil refining volumes, not to mention the improvement of processing equipment safety, and the general progress reached as part of the continuous effort to put in action the wide-ranging plans for development.

The refinery has made a reserve stock of petroleum products and reached agreements on additional deliveries from other Rosneft refineries in order to ensure uninterrupted supplies of fuels to its consumers during the period of overhaul.
