Subsea 7 S.A. (Oslo Børs: SUBC) today announced the award of a contract by Tullow Ghana Limited for the TEN Project offshore Ghana in water depths reaching up to 2000 metres. The contract was awarded to a consortium of Subsea 7 and Technip. Subsea 7’s share of the contract is valued at approximately US$500 million.

Subsea 7's scope of work includes the engineering, procurement, fabrication, transport and installation of 36 kilometres of pipe-in-pipe flowlines, related flowline termination structures, and structure foundation piles. The scope also includes transport and installation of manifolds, riser bases and flying leads. There is a significant fabrication scope of work which will be executed inGhana. Onshore operations will be led by a team who will be located in Ghana.
Engineering will commence immediately with offshore installation scheduled to commence in mid-2015, using the Seven Borealis.

Olivier Carré, Senior Vice-President for Africa and Gulf of Mexico said: “We are delighted to be awarded this contract which demonstrates Tullow’s confidence in our ability to deploy our technologies and assets to a large deepwater project offshore Ghana. This contract award further expands our strong presence in West Africa into a new country of operations for Subsea 7."

The TEN Field is located in the Deepwater Tano Contract Area, 60 kilometres off the coast of Ghana and approximately 30 kilometres west of the Tullow Operated Jubilee Field. Tullow Ghana Limited (a subsidiary of Tullow Oil plc) is Operator of the Deepwater Tano Contract Area with an interest of 47.175%. Other partner interests are Kosmos Energy (17%), Anadarko Petroleum (17%), Sabre Oil & Gas Holdings Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Petro SA (3.825%), and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (15%).
