The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) is releasing today (31 / 1) its Bulletin of Oil and Natural Gas for December 2010 that a new record in both the Brazilian oil production, as in the natural gas. Oil production was 2.18 million barrels per day (bpd) in December 2010, representing a 4.4% increase compared to November 2010, with 2.09 million bbl / d. The natural gas production was approximately 69 million cubic meters per day (m³ / d) in December 2010, an increase of 4.5% compared to 66.2 million m³ / d produced in November last year.

In comparison with December 2009, the increase registered was 9.1% in oil production and 14.5% in natural gas production. Click here to view the Production Bulletin December 2010.

Pre-salt
The pre-salt production in December 2010 exceeded the previous month, with 65,200 bpd of 2.312 million cubic meters of natural gas through wells and 1BRSA108AESS 6BRSA639ESS on Humpback and 3BRSA496RJS and 9BRSA716RJS in long-term test the block BM-S-11. The area of long-term test at Tupi (BM-S11) was declared commercial on 29/12/2010, but for purposes of preparing the Bulletin of the production was fully considered in the exploration phase. In November 2010 production was 63,700 bbl / d of oil and 2.301 million cubic meters of natural gas.

Gas flaring
In December 2010 there were approximately 11.4% reduction in the burning of natural gas over the same month in 2009 and 2% compared to November 2010. Of the total 79.23% are from burning of fields in the production phase and 20.77% of long-term tests (TLDs) concessions in the exploration phase.

The rate of utilization of natural gas, considering the only dealerships in the production phase was 92.27%.

Producing fields
Considering the production of oil and natural gas, the increase compared to November was 110,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe / d), and the fields of humpback, sperm whale and Marlin, in the Campos Basin, the primarily responsible for the results.

Were extracted from offshore fields approximately 91.4% of oil production and 75.7% of natural gas production in Brazil in December 2010. The three largest onshore fields producing oil and natural gas, barrels of oil equivalent, were East Urucu River Urucu (Solimões Basin) and Carmópolis (Sergipe Basin). Deserve mention five onshore wells in the field of Urucu River, the relationship of the 30 largest producer of natural gas.

Around 92.53% of the production of oil and natural gas comes from fields operated by Petrobras. Of the 20 major fields producing oil and natural gas, barrels of oil equivalent, two are operated by foreign companies Frade (Chevron) and Clam (Shell), in the Campos Basin.

Mature basins land
The production of mature basins land - which includes producing fields and long-term tests in the basins of Espirito Santo, Rio Grande do Norte, Reconcavo, Sergipe and Alagoas - was 184 thousand boe / d, with 149,000 bbl / d of oil and 5.614 million m³ / d of natural gas.

Platform
The P-52 platform, located in the Roncador Field, Campos Basin, has produced approximately 151,400 boe / remains of the unit with the highest production for the fourth consecutive month.
