Technip was awarded by Marathon Oil Norge a contract for the extension of subsea infrastructure on the Alvheim field, located on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The scope of work includes installation engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and tie-in of spools and protection covers as well as installation of one manifold. The subsea operations will mainly be performed with divers at a water-depth of approximately 120 meters in this area.

Technip’s operating center in Stavanger, Norway, will administrate and execute the project, which is scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2016. The offshore campaigns will take place in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and will utilize Technip’s state-of-the-art diving support vessel Skandi Arctic, capable of working efficiently through winter in both construction and diving mode, suitable for this extension project.

Odd Strømsnes, Managing Director at Technip in Norway, explains: "This award confirms our leading position as contractor for diving operations in the North Sea. This project will be the second one awarded to Technip for the extension of the existing infrastructure on the Alvheim field, the first one having been executed in 2012 and 2013. We are looking forward to continuing and consolidating our collaboration with Marathon through this project.”
