Statoil has awarded the Johan Sverdrup Infield Pipelines FEED contract to IKM Ocean Design.

Concept selection for Johan Sverdrup was made in February 2014. The field is located south of Grane, north-east of Sleipner and about 140 km west of Stavanger. Water depth in the area is 110-120 meters. Production start-up is expected in late 2019.

Managing Director in IKM Ocean Design, Peder Hoås, says in a press release that IKM Ocean Design is very pleased being awarded the contract. Our experience and competency fits well with the many challenges of Johan Sverdrup being a phased development. This is a continuation of the good work performed for the concept study completed beginning of this year and gives us the great opportunity to further support Statoil and its partners in developing the field architecture and subsea solutions for the largest oil discovery on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in thirty years.

The main objectives of the project is to further optimise the field architecture and infield pipeline layout to develop a cost effective solution for the Johan Sverdrup field development. Work under the conctract will commence immidiately.
