Recently, Sinopec Refining Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. (SEG) won the bid for Petronas greenfield refinery project. The project includes 15 million tons / year of atmospheric distillation, 8.8 million t / year residual oil hydrogenation and other core process units. The contracts for the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning (EPC) are worth approximately $ 1.329 billion.

The project is located in Johor, Malaysia, is Malaysia's largest investment projects in nearly 20 years. SEG, which was competing against a number of internationally renowned engineering companies, has taken a solid step in the process of internationalization.
