Wood Group awarded multi-year contract with ExxonMobil in Malaysia

Wood Group has been awarded a multi-year contract by ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc (EMEPMI), a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation.

Wood Group PSN and Wood Group Mustang will deliver brownfield engineering, procurement and construction management services to support EMEPMI’s offshore operations in Malaysia.

This is the first contract WGPSN has secured in the Malaysian market.

Andrew Stewart, managing director for Wood Group PSN Australia & Asia Pacific said: “We are thrilled with the award of this contract, which enables us to position the company in the exciting Malaysian market. The win has drawn on the strengths of Wood Group PSN and Wood Group Mustang to offer an unmatched proposition of local content and a proven brownfield performance regime.

“Wood Group is privileged to provide a diverse range of operations and technical support to ExxonMobil through integrated brownfield and engineering service contracts in Australia, Asia, Canada, the United States and Africa.”

Bob Lindsay, president of Wood Group Mustang offshore business unit, added: “Wood Group is excited to support ExxonMobil in Malaysia and this contract furthers our strategy to bring Wood Group expertise to Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region. We look forward to successfully providing a leading range of operations support skills to this region.”

Wood Group has a long term commitment to the Asia Pacific region and currently employs more than 2,000 people in the region providing full lifecycle services to the energy industry. These services range from concept, FEED, and detailed design through to maintenance and decommissioning activities.
