WorleyParsons has signed a contract with Steelhead LNG in connection with the proposed Sarita Bay LNG Project on Vancouver Island, Canada. The proposed project is a 24 (million tonnes per annum) land-based facility being developed jointly by Steelhead LNG and Huu-ay-aht First Nations.

The contract is for the provision of preliminary front end engineering and design studies, geotechnical investigations, environmental impact assessments, and permitting approvals support. WorleyParsons will begin the newly awarded activities immediately and will support the project with technical personnel from its offices in Burnaby, Canada and London, England.

“One of our core beliefs as a company is to build enduring customer relationships,” said Andrew Wood, WorleyParsons Chief Executive Officer. “WorleyParsons played a key role in the recently completed preliminary assessment & screening stage and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Steelhead LNG and Huu-ay-aht First Nations through this next stage of the project.”
