WorleyParsons is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract to provide project management and engineering services at Viva Energy Australia’s Geelong refinery in Victoria, Australia.

Viva Energy Australia is the operator of the Geelong refinery following Vitol’s $2.9 billion acquisition of Shell’s downstream business (excluding aviation) in 2014.

The contract is for three years with two one year renewal options and covers the provision of project delivery services associated with the sustaining capital Viva Energy intends to invest to support and improve its operations.

WorleyParsons will base its services at the refinery, leveraging its existing Geelong operation with further support as required from the wider WorleyParsons group.

"We are pleased to be partnering Viva Energy and look forward to supporting them to maximize the efficiency of their capital spend at the refinery" said Andrew Wood, Chief Executive Officer of WorleyParsons.
