TonenGeneral Sekiyu K.K. (“TonenGeneral” herein) announces that in the interest of optimizing the configuration of its production facilities, it has submitted a notification of change to, the Ministry of the Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and METI has accepted said notice providing for the reduction of the nominal capacity of the pipestill of its Kawasaki refinery by 10,000 barrels per day from 268,000 barrels per day to 258,000 barrels per day.

TonenGeneral will continue to pursue the optimization of its Group operations through further studies of facilities configuration optimization and other efforts.
