Two new hydrocarbon deposits in the Imbinskoye gas field were discovered by Gazprom Geologorazvedka, exploration operator in the Imbinsky license block of Gazprom (Boguchany District, Krasnoyarsk Territory).

Gazprom Geologorazvedka discovers new deposits at Imbinskoye field in Krasnoyarsk Territory

In compliance with the approved Geological Exploration Program, between 2010 and 2012 the company conducted 3D seismic surveys at the Imbinskoye field as well as drilled prospecting & appraisal well No.3, which revealed a potential for commercial gas production. The interpretations of geophysical and drilling data as well as investigations were reason enough to do a quick reserves appraisal. The build-up of C1 free gas-in-place reserves of the Imbinskoye field totaled 12.5 billion cubic meters, helium reserves – 9.8 thousand cubic meters.

In July the reserves were certified by the Federal State-Funded Institution State Reserves Commission and included into the State Register of Mineral Reserves of the Russian Federation.

“At present, our company is mapping out projects for further exploration activities in the Imbinsky license block, including the follow-up exploration of the already discovered hydrocarbon deposits,” said Roman Okishev, First Deputy Director General – Chief Engineer of Gazprom Geologorazvedka.

Gazprom Geologorazvedka is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom engaged in the entire set of exploration activities for prospecting new hydrocarbon fields and deposits both onshore and offshore the Russian Federation as well as the follow-up exploration of reserves in the existing fields and their pre-development. The company’s key objective is replenishing the mineral resource base of Gazprom Group.
Gazprom Geologorazvedka covers the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Irkutsk Region, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), central parts of Russia as well as offshore the Kara and Barents Seas and the Sea of Okhotsk.
The ISO 14001:2004 environmental management system is introduced at Gazprom Geologorazvedka. Industrial environmental control and environmental protection measures are carried out at all the project sites. Within Gazprom’s general social responsibility strategy, the company takes part in the socio-economic development of its activity region.

The company headquartered in Tyumen employs over 600 people.
Gazprom Geologorazvedka performs geological exploration at 11 license blocks in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Gazprom has conducted prospecting and exploration activities in the Territory since 2000. At the start of geological exploration the area was mostly unknown and featured complex geology, which required a large scope of work. Presently, operations are underway at the Omorinsky block, including the Kamovskoye field as well as the Abakanskoye, Imbinskoye, Vostochno-Imbinskoye and Ilbokichskoye fields.
In 2014 prospecting drilling started at the Troitsky and Tetersky license blocks; the construction of Chunskaya No. 1 exploratory well, the deepest one in Eastern Siberia, was finished in the Boguchany District.
Teterskaya No. 1 prospecting & appraisal well was completed in 2015, while the construction of Troitskaya No. 1 prospecting & appraisal well is still underway.
Between 2016 and 2018 the company plans to drill seven prospecting wells in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
