Swiber Holdings Limited announced that together with its Joint Venture partner Alam Maritim Sdn Bhd, Malaysia (together as “Alam Swiber Sdn Bhd, Malaysia”), has successfully completed its offshore installation scope of work for the NC3 Field, a part of the SK 316 Gas Development Project off Sarawak Malaysia.

The NC 3 Field Development EPCIC project for PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd, Malaysia was awarded to TMJV (Technip – MMHE Joint Venture). TMJV subcontracted the Offshore T&I (Transportation and Installation) scope to Alam Swiber Sdn Bhd.

The scope of work was divided into two campaigns. The first campaign involved the transportation and installation of a Wellhead Platform Jacket and Topside (WHP), the launching and installation of a 9,500mT Central Process Platform Jacket (CPP) as well as the installation of a link Bridge between the CPP and WHP Platforms. The offshore installation for Campaign 1 was successfully executed in between March and May 2015.

The second campaign involved the installation by Float-Over of the 13,000mT CPP Topside on the previously installed Jacket. It was executed within a challenging offshore installation schedule from the 08th to the 13th of September 2015. Actual mating of the topside was performed in less than 4 hours on 12th September 2015.

For these operations, Swiber utilised its in-house vessels, mainly the Derrick Lay Barge Swiber Kaizen 4000, the Float-over and Launch Barges Holmen Pacific and Holmen Atlantic, as well as an array of Offshore Support Vessels.

The entire project was completed with a zero LTI record (Loss Time Incidents).

Swiber’s Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer Darren Yeo said: “The successful installation of this project is a testament of the Group’s strong execution and reinforces Swiber’s track record in Transportation & Installation services in the Asia region.

Swiber, a global provider of EPCIC services for the offshore industry, has secured several new contracts over the past few months to boost its order book to a record US$1.5 billion.
