Among the actions carried out to maintain the production of hydrocarbons in various fields located in the Campeche Sound in the Gulf of Mexico, Petroleos Mexicanos to tender the lease without option to purchase eight offshore drilling platforms, jack-ups and the comprehensive implementation of various jobs for a total over 1.200 million.

These contracts will allow for the drilling, completion, maintenance, repair and making information offshore wells in order to comply with the operational programs of the Integrated Asset Ku-Maloob Zaap and Cantarell.

The Procurement Committee, leases, Works and Services of PEMEX E & P issued a positive opinion and once the Board of Directors authorized this subsidiary, the international call will be issued on the Federal Official Journal and Page Internet agency in July to begin operations later this year and the first quarter of 2012.

Seven of the platforms are cantilevered legged type independent, capable of operating in water depths of at least 105 meters and drilling at least 7.600 meters deep, including full maintenance, to operate in Mexican waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Furthermore it is considered another jack-up rig with the same features, only operate in braces for at least 90 meters.

It is noteworthy that five platforms operate in the integral active Ku-Maloob-Zaap, two other wells Cantarell and the KMZ fields and Ek Balam.

Platform is estimated that three operations initiated in September, with lease terms ranging from 927 to 1.204 days, to complete in 2014, two in October for periods longer than 1.400 days, one in December and two in February and March 2012 to end 2015 and 2016, respectively.

In addition, Pemex Exploration and Production contract work or optional integrated repair and maintenance information and decision-active wells in the Cantarell integral with the support of a self-propelled jack-up rig equipped with a boat supplier.

For drilling of wells in the southern region, Pemex Exploration and Production will acquire five land rigs with an investment of $ 200 million, three rated at least three thousand horsepower (HP) and two with capacity of 2000 HP, including supply, installation, testing, commissioning, operation, training and technical assistance.

For this contract, the Procurement Committee, Leasing, Works and Services PEP also issued a favorable opinion and public tenders will be called once the Board approves.
