Contract award for Johan Sverdrup power cables

ABB wins $155 million order to power large North Sea oilfield
ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has won an order worth $155 million from Norway’s Statoil to supply systems and equipment to two HVDC converter stations linking the recently discovered Johan Sverdrup offshore field with the onshore grid. The contract has been booked in the first quarter of 2015.

ABB wins contract worth more than $50 million for one of the world’s first floating LNG facilities
ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has won a contract worth more than $50 million to supply the electrical system for one of the world’s first commercial floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facilities, and the second to be owned by Malaysian oil and gas company PETRONAS. It will be called “PFLNG2”.
The contract was awarded in the fourth quarter of 2014 by Japanese engineering contractor JGC Corporation. JGC is part of a consortium that is building the facility for PETRONAS, along with Samsung Heavy Industries of Korea.

ABB to build $216 million gas treatment plant in Tunisia
ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has been awarded a $216 million contract to deliver a gas treatment plant to the South Tunisian Gas Project (STGP).The order was awarded by OMV Tunisie Production GmbH, a subsidiary of Austrian energy group OMV, and was booked in the third quarter.

ABB wins power and automation order for vessel in British North Sea
ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has won an order from Armada Kraken Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Bumi Armada Berhad, a Malaysia-based international offshore oilfield services provider.
ABB will provide power and automation technologies for the floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel destined for the Kraken oil field, the biggest subsea oilfield project in the British North Sea.

ABB wins $60 million telecom contracts for Statoil platforms
ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has won three orders worth $60 million for internal and external telecommunication systems for three Statoil projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The orders were booked in the fourth quarter of 2013 and in the first quarter of 2014.
The three contracts are signed with leading shipyards in South Korea. ABB will be a system integrator of telecommunications on the offshore installations built for the Aasta Hansteen and Gina Krog fields in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea and for the Mariner field in the British sector. ABB has more than 30 years of experience in telecommunication deliveries to the global oil and gas industry and will complete these system deliveries by 2015.

ABB wins $27 million offshore automation contract
ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has won an order from Statoil for the upgrade of safety and automation systems at the important Heimdal platform in the North Sea, off the coast of Norway. The agreement with Statoil was signed in the second quarter of 2013.
ABB’s scope comprises a new Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for the control system, control room modifications, simulator, fire and gas detectors, integration of telecommunication in the control room and information management systems (IMS).
