ERCB Issues Conditional Approval for the Resumption of Pipeline Operations to Plains Midstream Canada

Imperial and ExxonMobil Pursuing Additional Routes for Kearl Modules, Reducing Size
Imperial Oil and ExxonMobil are pursuing routes for the safe shipment of smaller equipment modules for the Kearl project. The companies are reducing the size and weight of the shipments and will seek permits for an additional route that will use four-lane divided highways and not require road closures or highway upgrading.

Alberta sets single day land sale record
Today’s petroleum and natural gas land sale netted over $841 million and is the highest ever total from a land sale in the history of Alberta. This nearly doubles the previous high of $474 million set in December 2005. The sale also set a record for average price hectare of $3,110.85, surpassing the previous high of $2,185.03 set in July 2010.

Expansion of oil sands upgrader goes on-stream
Shell today announced the successful start of production from its Scotford Upgrader Expansion project in Canada. The 100,000 barrels-per-day expansion takes upgrading capacity at Scotford to 255,000 barrels-per-day of heavy oil from the Athabasca oil sands.
