ConocoPhillips Announces Intended Sale of Algerian Business Unit
ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP) today announced it has entered into an agreement to sell its Algerian business unit for a total of $1.75 billion plus customary adjustments. The proposed sale is subject to co-venturer preemption rights and Algerian government approval.

Repsol makes a gas discovery in Algeria
Repsol has made a gas discovery in the Illizi basin, in the south east of Algeria. The find in the Tihalatine South-1 well (TIHS-1) is the first made in the Sud-Est Illizi block in the current exploration campaign.

PTTEP & Partners discover 2 oil fields in Algeria
Mr. Tevin Vongvanich (นายเทวินทร์ วงศ์วานิช), President and CEO of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited or PTTEP disclosed that PTTEP with its Partners SONATRACH and CNOOC Limited has successfully discovered crude oil in the 4th and the 5th exploration wells in Hassi Bir Rekaiz project, Algeria.
The 4th exploration well (OGB-1) was drilled and yielded petroleum discovery in formation of Ordovician (Ouargla Sandstone) reservoir. The flow tests (Drill Stem Test - DST) were conducted and discovered the crude oil flow at approximately 485 barrels per day (BPD). Triassic Argilo Greseux Inférieur (TAG-I) reservoir which is the same formation with oil occurrence in the first well (RTF-1) in early 2012 exhibits oil flows as well but amount need to assess further. The joint venture is considering further appraisal program for reserve assessment.

CGGVeritas Returns to Algeria with Land Seismic Award
CGGVeritas announced today that it is set to resume land seismic acquisition operations in Algeria after the award of a 3D vibroseis survey by Groupement Timimoun (GTIM), a joint venture between Sonatrach, Total EP Algérie and CEPSA. This award has been the result of an Open Call for Tender process.

Field Development Plan Being Specified at Block 245 South in Algeria
Rosneft-Stroytransgaz Limited (RN-STG), controlled by Rosneft and Stroytransgaz, is working jointly with Sonatrach, Algeria’s national oil company, to begin reservoir delineation at three earlier discovered deposits within Block 245 South in Algeria. The three deposits are East Takuazet, West Takuazet and North Tisselit.

Repsol to develop the Reggane North gas fields in Algeria

JGC Awarded Major EPC Contract for Bir Seba Field Development Project in Algeria
JGC Corporation (JGC) and its subsidiary JGC Algeria Ltd. have been awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services contract for the Bir Seba Field Development Project by Groupement Bir Seba, comprising Sonatrach, the Algerian state-owned oil and gas company, Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP), and PTT Exploration and Production Algeria (PTTEP). Participating interests in Groupement Bir Seba are 25%, 40%, and 35%, respectively.
