IndianOil's Paradip Refinery starts crude processing
IndianOil has started the process of commissioning its 15 MMTPA state-of-the-art Paradip Refinery. Crude processing has been started in Atmospheric & Vacuum unit (AVU) on April 26, 2015 and products like LPG, Naphtha, Kerosene, Gas Oil, RCO etc. are coming out of the unit. Some of these products will require further processing in secondary units, which are also gearing up for commissioning. The whole complex is likely to take about 6-8 months time for becoming fully operational in an integrated manner. This was disclosed by Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Director [ Refineries ] of the largest Refiner of the country- IndianOil.

Technip awarded FEED contract for the Liuhua fields in the South China Sea
Technip and its consortium partner China Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) have been awarded a front end engineering design (FEED) contract by China National Offshore Oil Corporation Limited (CNOOC Ltd.) for two tension leg platforms(1) (TLPs) for the Liuhua 11-1 and 16-2 joint development project located in the South China Sea.

Engro Corporation and Excelerate Energy Commission Port Qasim LNG Terminal
On March 28, 2015, officials from Engro Corporation (“Engro”), Excelerate Energy (“Excelerate”), and the Government of Pakistan were present for the inauguration of Pakistan’s first LNG import terminal in Port Qasim. Located in a channel of the Indus River east of Karachi, the terminal is a result of a fast-track LNG import solution built to alleviate the energy shortage facing the country, and was brought into service 11 months from the start of construction. Utilizing Excelerate’s floating storage and regasification vessel (FSRU), the EXQUISITE, the facility has the capacity to deliver up to 690 MMcf/d of natural gas directly to Sui Southern Gas Company’s natural gas pipeline system.

TonenGeneral Group to Optimize Kawasaki Refinery Operations
TonenGeneral Sekiyu K.K. (“TonenGeneral” herein) announces that in the interest of optimizing the configuration of its production facilities, it has submitted a notification of change to, the Ministry of the Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and METI has accepted said notice providing for the reduction of the nominal capacity of the pipestill of its Kawasaki refinery by 10,000 barrels per day from 268,000 barrels per day to 258,000 barrels per day.

Gazprom Neft increases collaboration with Vietnam
Gazprom Neft and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) have signed a series of agreements to extend their collaboration activity. The documents were signed in Hanoi (Vietnam), in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev and the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyễn Tấn Dũng.

Qatargas sells the first LNG cargo to Pakistan to commission LNG terminal
Qatargas sold its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO). The LNG cargo was sold on a free-on-board basis and loaded at Ras Laffan Port on to the LNG vessel Excelerate Exquiste on 21 March 2015.

The cargo was secured to commission the Excelerate Exquiste, which will become the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit, when it is moored in Port Qassim, Pakistan as part of the Elengy LNG terminal which is the first Pakistan LNG import terminal.

This is the first LNG agreement between Qatar and Pakistan and the first ever LNG import deal for any entity in Pakistan.

The delivery of LNG to PSO is important milestone for Qatargas as it continues to play a key role in the Middle Eastern market and positions itself as a world leader in the supply of energy to global and new markets.

Qatargas is committed to reliably supplying more countries with a clean, safe and highly efficient source of energy. Both parties, Qatargas and PSO are in continuous discussions for a longer term Sales and Purchase Agreement to supply LNG to Pakistan. Pakistan is a nation with strong growth potential and is heavily reliant on gas as part of its energy mix.

One of the key strengths of Qatargas has been the development of considerable expertise in supporting the commissioning of new LNG Receiving Terminals globally. To date the Company has helped commission 14 LNG terminals across the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Eni signs Production Sharing Contracts for the exploration of two blocks offshore Myanmar
Eni, following its participation in the competitive International Bid Round launched by the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, signed two Production Sharing Contracts (PSC) for offshore blocks MD-02 and MD-04. The contracts were signed in Nay Pyi Taw, in the presence of the country’s Energy Minister. The Joint Venture is between Eni, the Operator with an 80% participating interest through Eni Myanmar B.V, and Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation Limited (20%).

Eni: new successes in the exploration activities in Indonesia and Libya
Eni has completed post drilling studies on the Merakes-1 gas finding, located in the Indonesia deep offshore East Sepinggan Block, which indicates significant upside gas potential. Eni is the operator of the East Sepinggan Block with an 85% interest.

Pelikan – first gas
Premier is pleased to announce that gas production from the Pelikan field in the Natuna Sea Block A offshore Indonesia commenced on 9 March 2015. This follows first gas from the Naga field, also on Natuna Sea Block A, in November 2014. Both projects were brought on-stream to budget.
