Atwood Oceanics Announces Contract for the Atwood Advantage
Atwood Oceanics, Inc. (NYSE: ATW) announced today that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a drilling services contract for the Atwood Advantage by a subsidiary of Noble Energy Inc. (NYSE: NBL) for a worldwide program commencing in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Atwood Advantage is a 12,000 foot water depth capable, dynamically positioned drillship currently under construction at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering ("DSME") shipyard in South Korea. The agreement specifies an operating rate of approximately $584,000 per day and a firm duration of three years, exclusive of the mobilization period from DSME to the first drilling location.

Atwood Oceanics Announces Contract for the Atwood Aurora
ATWOOD OCEANICS, INC., announced today that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a drilling services contract by GLENCORE EXPLORATION CAMEROON LTD for the jack-up rig Atwood Aurora. The contract for three wells with a minimum total duration of 200 days will be performed in Cameroon at a dayrate of approximately $155,000.

ATWOOD OCEANICS Announces Contract for the Atwood Hunter
ATWOOD OCEANICS, INC., announced today that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a drilling services contract by a subsidiary of Noble Energy Inc. for the Atwood Hunter for three firm wells with a minimum total duration of 150 days plus one option well. The first well will be in a tax-free location in Cameroon at a dayrate of approximately $364,000, while the second and third wells will be in Equatorial Guinea at a dayrate of approximately $388,000.

Atwood Oceanics Announces Contract Extension for the Atwood Osprey
ATWOOD OCEANICS, INC. announced today that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a three year contract extension by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd ("Chevron"), for the semisubmersible Atwood Osprey. The Atwood Osprey commenced its initial three year drilling services contract with Chevron on May 27, 2011 for operations offshore Australia inclusive of the Greater Gorgon field development project. With this contract extension, the Atwood Osprey is now committed through May 2017.

Atwood Oceanics Announces Contract for the Atwood Mako
ATWOOD OCEANICS, INC., announced today that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a contract by Salamander Energy (Bualuang) Limited, for the newbuild jackup Atwood Mako. The day rate for work offshore Thailand will be $145,000 and the award is for a firm duration of 12 months. The Atwood Mako is currently under construction with PPL Shipyard PTE LTD in Singapore and will have a rated water depth of 400 feet, accommodations for 150 personnel and significant offline handling features. Contract commencement is expected in direct continuation of shipyard delivery, currently anticipated to be September 2012.

Atwood Oceanics Orders Ultra-Deepwater Drillship
ATWOOD OCEANICS, INC., announced that on October 15, 2011, Alpha Eagle Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atwood Oceanics, Inc. (the "Company"), entered into a turnkey construction contract with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co., Ltd., ("DSME") to construct an ultra-deepwater drillship, to be named the Atwood Achiever, at the DSME yard in South Korea. The Atwood Achiever is expected to be delivered by June 30, 2014 at a total cost, including project management, drilling and handling tools and spares, of approximately $600 million. Financing for the construction of the Atwood Achiever is expected to be provided from a combination of available cash, cash flows from operations and borrowings, as necessary, from the current senior credit facility of Atwood Offshore Worldwide Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company. Upon delivery, the Atwood Achiever will become the sixteenth mobile offshore drilling unit owned by the Company.

ATWOOD OCEANICS, INC., announced today that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a drilling services contract by Hess Corporation for work in the Gulf of Mexico for the Atwood Condor, Atwood's ultra-deepwater, dynamically positioned Friede & Goldman ExD Millennium semisubmersible drilling unit currently under construction at Jurong Shipyard Pte. Ltd. in Singapore.The contract has a firm duration of 21 months, exclusive of the mobilization period from Singapore to the Gulf of Mexico, and includes two one-year options with pricing subject to mutual agreement.

ATWOOD OCEANICS Announces Contracts for the Atwood Eagle and the Atwood Falcon
ATWOOD OCEANICS, INC., a Houston-based international offshore drilling contractor (NYSE: ATW), announced today that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded two contracts by Apache Energy Ltd for work in Australia for the Atwood Eagle and the Atwood Falcon with durations of 18 months and 30 months, respectively. With these contracts, Atwood's total revenue backlog increases from approximately $990 million to $1,550 million.
