Neste Oil produces premium-quality NExBTL renewable diesel from waste fat sourced from the fish processing industry
Neste Oil has again expanded the range of renewable raw materials it uses by beginning to produce NExBTL renewable diesel from waste fat sourced from the fish processing industry at its Singapore refinery. The fat in question comes from the gutting waste generated when processing freshwater pangasius farmed in Southeast Asia after the fillets have been removed for human consumption.

BP Announces Expansion of Biofuels Business in Brazil
BP announced today that it has agreed to acquire majority control of the Brazilian ethanol and sugar producer Companhia Nacional de Açúcar e Álcool (CNAA).
When CNAA’s assets are fully developed, this is expected to increase BP’s overall Brazilian production capacity to around 1.4 billion litres of ethanol equivalent per year (nine million barrels).

KiOR Signs Offtake Agreement With Hunt Refining Company for Renewable Fuels
KiOR, Inc., announced today that it has signed an offtake agreement with Hunt Refining Company, who has agreed to purchase renewable gasoline and diesel blendstocks and fuel oil produced at KiOR’s first commercial facility to be located in Columbus, MS. In addition to the offtake of renewable fuel blendstocks, the two companies have agreed to collaborate on information and resources aimed at optimizing the performance of their products and services. The agreement requires the parties mutually to determine fuel product specifications and contains other terms and conditions.

Neste Oil’s renewable diesel plant in Singapore selected as Project of the Year for 2010
Neste Oil’s new NExBTL renewable diesel plant in Singapore has been named Project of the Year in 2010 by the online magazine, Biofuels Digest. The plant, the world’s largest renewable diesel facility, was started up on-schedule and on-budget in November 2010. It has a capacity of 800,000 t/a and cost approx. €550 million.
