Transocean Issues Update on Macondo Incident
Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG) (SIX: RIGN) announced today that an affiliate of BP plc on April 20, 2011 filed a cross-claim against Transocean entities in the existing Multi-District Litigation proceeding in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana for contribution pursuant to the Oil Pollution Act of 1990. Pursuant to an order of the court, co-defendants in a consolidated proceeding related to the Macondo well incident were required to file claims by April 20, 2011.

BP and Rosneft Extend Share Swap Deadline
BP announced today that it has agreed with Rosneft to extend the deadline for completing the share swap agreement (previously announced on 14 January) to 16 May 2011. The agreement between the two companies followed the 8 April decision of the arbitral tribunal to allow them to discuss extension of the deadline. This means that the share swap agreement will now not terminate on 14 April 2011.

Statoil, BP and Sonatrach have signed a USD 1.15 billion engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Petrofac International (UAE) LLC in Algiers for the execution of the In Salah Southern Fields development project.

BP to Sell Colorado Gas Plant
BP America Production Company announced today that it has agreed to sell its 93 per cent interest in the Wattenberg, Colorado natural gas processing plant to a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation for $575.5 million in cash, subject to closing adjustments.

BP to Sell Some U.S. Fuel Storage and Pipeline Assets to Buckeye
BP Products North America today announced that it has agreed to sell a package of 33 refined products terminals and 992 miles of pipelines across 13 states to Buckeye Partners L.P. Buckeye has also agreed to buy BP’s 50 per cent share in Inland Corporation, the pipeline joint venture in Ohio.

BP Announces Expansion of Biofuels Business in Brazil
BP announced today that it has agreed to acquire majority control of the Brazilian ethanol and sugar producer Companhia Nacional de Açúcar e Álcool (CNAA).
When CNAA’s assets are fully developed, this is expected to increase BP’s overall Brazilian production capacity to around 1.4 billion litres of ethanol equivalent per year (nine million barrels).

Official Statement by OJSC Rosneft on the BP Partnership
In January 2011, OJSC Rosneft Oil Company and BP signed agreements regarding strategic cooperation and an exchange of shares between the two companies. In February, in response to a demand by ARR referring to the shareholders’ agreement between BP and TNK, the High Court of Justice in London issued an injunction halting completion of these deals.
