BP Agrees to Sell its Interests in Pan American Energy to Bridas Corporation
BP announced today that it has entered into an agreement to sell its interests in Pan American Energy (PAE) to Bridas Corporation. PAE is an Argentina-based oil and gas company owned by BP (60 per cent) and Bridas Corporation (40 per cent).

BP Awarded Exploration Block in Indonesia
Following an announcement last week by the Government of Indonesia last week, BP confirmed today that it has been awarded a 100 per cent interest in the North Arafura oil and gas production sharing contract (PSC) in onshore Papua Province. The PSC was signed today in Jakarta by representatives of the Government and BP.

Praxair Starts Up Large Hydrogen Facility in Indiana
Praxair, Inc. (NYSE: PX) has begun supplying BP’s refinery complex in Whiting, Indiana, with hydrogen from its new, state-of-the-art hydrogen facility. The two steam methane reformers have a total capacity of 200 million standard cubic feet per day. BP uses hydrogen to produce ultra-low-sulfur gasoline and diesel fuels.

BP Suspends Production from Rhum Gas Field
BP confirmed today that, pending clarification from the UK Government on certain aspects of the new EU Regulations concerning restrictive measures against Iran, production from the Rhum gas field in the central North Sea has been suspended. This action has been taken in order to comply with the notification requirements in the Regulations.

October is Busiest Month Yet for Rumaila Operations
October saw the highest levels of activity on the Rumaila oilfield in southern Iraq since the Technical Service Agreement was signed in 2009 and BP was appointed Lead Contractor. Activity has focused on improving oil production from existing wells, bringing new wells on stream and ensuring flowlines and other field infrastructure is tied-in to support increased production.
In October, a total of 20 drilling rigs were working on the field, including those operated under new contracts by Daqing, Weatherford and a consortium of Schlumberger and IDC. Seven of these were drilling into the main pay of the reservoir and 13 were workover rigs, installing electrical submersible pumps (ESPs).

Apache Completes Acquisition of BP Assets in Egypt's Western Desert
Apache Corporation (NYSE, Nasdaq: APA) today announced that a subsidiary has completed its acquisition of BP's oil and gas operations, acreage and infrastructure in Egypt's Western Desert. The transaction marks the final step in Apache's previously announced three-part acquisition of BP assets.

BP Awarded Seven Exploration Licences in UK North Sea
BP confirmed today that it has been awarded licence interests in seven offshore exploration blocks in the UK’s 26th Seaward Licencing Round. The awards – five blocks operated by BP and two blocks operated by a partner – together represent the largest licence award BP has received in the UK for more than a decade.

BP to Sell Interests in Four Gulf of Mexico Fields to Marubeni
BP today announced that it has reached agreement to sell its recently-acquired interests in four mature producing deepwater oil and gas fields in the US Gulf of Mexico to Marubeni Oil and Gas for $650 million.
