Air Products Wins Bharat Petroleum Supply Contract for Hydrogen and Other Gases
Air Products (NYSE:APD), the leading global hydrogen provider, today announced it has signed a long-term agreement with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) [NSE: BPCL] and will build, own, and operate several new industrial gas production facilities in Kochi, Kerala, India. The new industrial gas complex will provide hydrogen, syngas, nitrogen and oxygen for BPCL’s Kochi Refinery and its proposed petrochemicals complex. The facilities will support India’s largest-ever outsourced hydrogen requirement and will result in Air Products’ first hydrogen production facilities in India. A phased onstream for the products supplied to BPCL’s Kochi Refinery targets late 2015 for the initial supply of gases.

BPCL's Rs 14,225-cr refinery expansion proj gets green nod
The Environment & Forests Ministry has granted environment clearance to the Rs 14,225 crore Integrated Refinery Expansion Project (IREP) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation to be implemented at Kochi Refinery Ltd. BPCL, Kochi Refinery, has a refining capacity of 9.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), producing Euro-III/IV compliant auto-fuels and various other Petroleum Products, Kochi Refinery Ltd said in a release.

EIL bags Integrated Refinery Expansion Project of BPCL, Kochi
Engineers India Ltd. (EIL) has secured Consultancy Services Contract from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) for Integrated Refinery Expansion Project (IREP), Kochi at a fee of Rs. 720 crores. The project involves enhancing crude oil refining capacity of the refinery from the present level of 9.5 MMPTA to 15.5 MMPTA.

BPCL to expand Kochi refinery by 63%
Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) said it will expand its Kochi refinery by 63%, slightly higher than previously planned, by December 2015 and upgrade the refinery to process cheaper, high-sulphur crude to improve margins and products.

BPCL to focus on low-cost refinery expansions
Bharat Petroleum Corporation plans to achieve refining capacity of nearly 42 million tonnes by 2015-16 where the focus will be on low-cost expansions. Kochi Refinery will see the largest capacity increase to 15.5 mt from 9.5 mt during this period. The recently commissioned Bina refinery, a joint venture with Oman Oil, will be up to nine mt as part of a ‘creeping expansion' exercise using the existing infrastructure.
