Toyota Tsusho invests C$600 million in Encana's coalbed methane..
Encana Corporation (TSX, NYSE: ECA) has reached an agreement with Toyota Tsusho Wheatland Inc., a subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho Corporation, that will see the Japanese company invest approximately C$602 million to acquire a 32.5 percent royalty interest in natural gas production from a portion of Encana's coalbed methane (CBM) resource play. The agreement includes production from a total of about 5,500 existing wells and potential future drilling locations in southern Alberta.

Letter of Intent for new China CBM and Shale Gas PSCs
Dart Energy International Pte Ltd (“Dart International”, the international operating arm of Dart Energy Limited - ASX: DTE), has entered into a Letter of Intent (“LOI”) with Henan CBM (“HCBM”) and Hong Kong Prosperous Clean Energy Company (“HPEC”). The LOI relates to the establishment of potential new foreign cooperation Production Sharing Contracts (“PSCs”) – up to four for coal bed methane at various blocks in Henan Province, China, and one for shale gas in Sichuan Province, China.

Sinopec Launches First CBM Demonstration Project
Sinopec East China Company kicked off the coal bed methane (CBM) capacity building project in the southern industry zone of Yanchuan, Shanxi Province in early March. It is Sinopec’s first CBM capacity demonstration area. The demonstration project is projected to be completed in two to three years, and the major part of the project will be finished by the end of this year. It is estimated that by 2012, massive gas output will be achieved with considerable economic value.
