Wood Group to provide commissioning services for Chevron's Jack & St. Malo deepwater semi-submersible facility
Wood Group, the international energy services company, has been granted a multi-million dollar, 42-month contract by Chevron U.S.A. Inc. for the planning, managing and field execution of commissioning for the Jack & St. Malo semi-submersible hub production facility. Work will be performed by DSI, Wood Group PSN's commissioning services business.

Chevron Awards Baker Hughes Contract for Deepwater ESP Systems
Chevron U.S.A. Inc. has awarded Baker Hughes (BHI: NYSE) a contract to supply electrical submersible pumping (ESP) systems and production packers for seven producing wells, plus mud line packers for three injection wells for their Gulf of Mexico deepwater Big Foot Project. This award marks the first deployment of ESP systems inside the wellbore in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. The ESP systems will be placed at a true vertical depth of approximately 16,000 feet.

Expansion of oil sands upgrader goes on-stream
Shell today announced the successful start of production from its Scotford Upgrader Expansion project in Canada. The 100,000 barrels-per-day expansion takes upgrading capacity at Scotford to 255,000 barrels-per-day of heavy oil from the Athabasca oil sands.

Chevron Announces Agreement to Acquire Marcellus Shale Acreage
Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) has announced today that it has agreed to acquire oil and gas assets, primarily 228,000 net leasehold acres, in the Marcellus Shale from Chief Oil & Gas LLC and Tug Hill, Inc. Terms of the transaction, which is expected to close before the end of the second quarter, were not disclosed.

KBR Awarded Construction Contract for Chevron's Base Oil Project in Pascagoula, MS
KBR (NYSE: KBR) today announced it has been awarded a $65 million contract by Chevron Products Company to execute a Base Oil expansion project at Chevron's refinery in Pascagoula, MS. The construction project includes building a new lubes hydrocracker and a lube dewaxing / hydrofinishing unit. KBR intends to hire staff locally for the execution of this project. Work is expected to begin in May, and upon completion, the facility is expected to be one of the largest premium base oil plants in the world.

KBR Awarded Detailed Design Engineering Contract for Jack & St. Malo Floating Production Unit by Chevron U.S.A. Inc.
KBR (NYSE:KBR) today announced that it has been awarded a contract by Chevron U.S.A. Inc. to execute detailed design engineering for the Jack & St. Malo floating production unit (FPU) located in the Lower Tertiary trend in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. The Jack and St. Malo fields are located within 25 miles (40 km) of one another approximately 280 miles (450 km) south of New Orleans, Louisiana, in water depths of 7,000 feet (2,100 m).
